Abstract
Objectives :
To report the management of secondary glaucoma caused by intraocular inflammation.
Methods :
A case report of 13 years old boy with blurred vision on his left eye since 6 months ago. Visual acuity was 1/300, IOP was 59,1 mmHg and diagnosed as secondary glaucoma. The B-Scan showed turbidity in corpus vitreum with sharp edge, suggested as intraocular mass and considered to be enucleated. There was no mass appearance both in intraocular or extraocular according tomography scanning. The laboratory result showed mild leucocytosis. Observation was accurately conducted and we conclude that the correct diagnosed was intraocular inflammation and enucleate the eye can be avoided.
Result :
Antibiotic and high dose steroid was given to the patient such as dexamethasone 4 mg once daily and spiramycine 500 mg three time daily, a significant decreased of mass volume based on B-Scan was showed.
Conclusion :Mass like appearance in corpus vitreum was suggested as intraocular inflammation based on B-Scan result. Accurate observation and examination is important to avoid miss diagnosed.
